Paulo's Praia
Hi, my name is Paulo and I'm from Lisbon, Portugal (after first born in Africa and lived in Azores) but I am living here in Austin, Texas now, and loving every minute of it.
This is me standing in front of the living room window in Lisbon in the summer of 97.
I am a 26 year old, Economist, Portuguese, who was first born in Africa (Mozambique), then moved to Azores (due to the civil war occurring at the time), after that went to the mainland (Portugal) after the earthquake that the Island I lived in suffered, and now life has led me to USA, Texas, in this so much special town of Austin, where my heart lies.
I will try to give you in this little space some information of where I have lived, where I do live, and the things I love the most, the sea, the beach, the true raw nature of things, besides my Family and friends of course (a big hug to my brothers Luis and Joao, and my sister, Ana, and my mom and dad also - I miss you guys). Also, please leave me an assinatura n'areia (writing in the sand) while you are here or you can view other assinaturas that people have left on my praia.
Portugal is the most western country of Europe, its a democratic country with great traditional values and long history of existence. Portugal has a big coastal area which was the fundamental key for the Navigators in the XV century. Portuguese Navigators are the responsible ones for the route through sea to India, and they also colonized several countries, that nowadays are all independent, like:
in Africa- Mozambique (where I was born); Angola; Guine Bissau; S.Tome e Principe; Cabo Verde.
in India - Goa
in South America-Brazil
in China- Macau
in Indonesia- Timor
and it has also the archipelago of Azores and Madeira (still Portuguese) situated in the Atlantic ocean, where true raw nature and extraordinary beauty resides.
