Azores

Azores are one archipelago of 9 islands lost in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, they belong to Portugal but have a different status (autonomous regions) sort of like states. They carry great beauty, quietness and good people . The Islands are very full of raw nature, not changed from man to tourism so they hold that special magic .

The Island I lived in is called Terceira (click here to see more pictures of Terceira), and it means the third , the third island to be discovered, it is the place I still identify as home, most of my special years were spent there .

I will try to show you a few pictures of the islands and tell you a little more about them to try and give you an idea of what I am talking about.

This is the city I lived in, in the Terceira Island, its called Angra do Heroismo.

Terceira is mainly cattle raising country so this is what most of the sites look like. The walls are to divide the pastures and the cattle.

This is another island, called Sao Miguel and the place is Lagoa das sete cidades.

Another beautiful image from Pico, another island, another kind of scenery.

This is Sao Jorge...small islands but big in their beauty.

This is the smallest island in the archipelago, its called Corvo, and there are about 300 people living there.

Finally to end up my collection of pictures I have the capital of the nine islands, in Sao Miguel and its called Ponta Delgada.
